Safety Tips

Fire Safety at Home

Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms and outside sleeping areas.

Test smoke alarms every month and replace batteries at least once a year.

Plan two ways out of every room in your home and practice escape routes with your family.

Keep flammable items at least three feet away from anything that gets hot, such as space heaters.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Outdoor Fire Safety

Maintain a safe zone around your home by clearing away dead vegetation and debris.

Store firewood, propane tanks, and other flammable materials away from your home.

Use only approved and properly maintained outdoor grills and campfire pits.

Never leave a campfire or grill unattended and ensure it’s completely extinguished before leaving.

Educate children on the dangers of fire and ensure they know what to do in case of an emergency.
