EMS Coordinator / Captain Sam Ivkovich
Captain Sam Ivkovich has been in the fire and EMS services for approximately 40 years. Sam joined the East Springfield Fire Department in 2024 after retiring from the Steubenville Fire Department as the Assistant Chief and with 31 years of service. Captain Ivkovich is a Fire II/Paramedic and serves additionally as our EMS Coordinator. Captain Ivkovich is responsible for managing all aspects of the paid and volunteer EMS services. Captain Ivkovich was the recipient of the 2024 Life Saving Achievement Award where he successfully resuscitated a person in cardiac arrest. He also was the recipient of the 2024 EMS Provider of the Year Award.
